To organize this fishing competition at Woodlands Jetty is definitely a positive approach towards recognizing local anglers and the ever growing healthy weekend sport activity here in Singapore, particularly Woodlands Town. However, to have such rullling, banning anglers from using live baits in fishing is clearly an unfair and a questionable issue. Being a passionate angler myself, i found that there are no reason at all why the authirities should imposed such rulling in Woodlands Jetty. Anykind of baits, live or dead, will ever do any damage to our local water, there are millions of sealife died naturally every seconds, and the sea actually benefitted from this eco cycle. Therefore, i will turn up and participate in the competition for the love of this sport, and i will also taking the opportunity to bring along a letter of petition against the unfair rulling by the authority for banning live baits in Woodlands Jetty. I hope everyonen who have passion in fishing, to give me your support by signing the petition letter on that day...cheers.

I agree with you that organizing a fishing competition at Woodlands Waterfront is a good step taken to get more anglers to frequent it. However, I believe the authorities have their reasons for having the "no live bait" sign at the jetty. I wonder too why of all jetties in Singapore, only Woodlands Jetty is being banned from using "live baits". I applaud your initiative to garner support for the cause. I hope the authorities will give or issue out a proper explanation for the "no live bait" issue. I will be there to watch the competition. I just hope someone will catch a big fish and not assam/tambans for 3hours. Good luck for the competition!

Thanks for your supporting notes n i hope to see u at Woodlands Jetty during the competition Farhan. Im not there xpexting to a big catch, without live bait i guess its near impossible for any angler to catch anything, however, as i said, im there just for the love of the sport, n i do think that if more ppl to show up n join the event, our voice is strong enough to be heard, so, why not grab ur gears n participate?, the more the merrier, this is thus n opportunity for us anglers to show to the authorities that angling has yet bcoming a popular pastime and had reached its benchmark, n perhaps more linient rulling could be bend in the future...cheers
